Cat Trap and Cat Trap Lite back on App Store.

Both Cat Trap and Cat Trap Lite are now back on the App Store. As a result of this transfer all customer history has been removed. This means that anyone who downloaded either of these applications previously will no longer be able to access updates, or in the case of Cat Trap, re-download the app for free. To remain fair to those who previously purchased Cat Trap, no further non-essential updates will be made. If under certain circumstances the .ipa file was removed from your HD, feel free to contact us and we will assist you.
Wrecking Ball and Wrecking Ball Lite will hopefully be made available soon.

App Transfer

Our applications are going to be transferred to a new Apple Developer account, this transfer will require the apps to be unavailable on the iTunes App Store. The apps will most likely be removed from the App Store sometime tonight and could be unavailable for at least a week. Availability will depend on the Apple approval process, which could be long during the holiday season.

Once the Apps are back in the App Store all reviews and previous statistics will be gone. We are unsure as to whether previous purchasers will be allowed to re-download and update the application. There is the possibility that previous owners will no longer be able to get updates (without repurchasing the App), if this is the case all further non-critical updates to current Apps will be canceled indefinitely to be fair to those who previously purchased the App.

We apologize for any inconvenience any of this may cause.

New Website & Wrecking Ball Update Information

We are in the progress of finalizing a newly designed website. We feel that the current design is beginning to get dated and less aesthetically pleasing. The new website, which shares many of the characteristics of the current websites in a newly redesigned format, will be released in the next couple days. The website will also be getting a new host which will hopefully increase the load times and reliability.

Things have been busy lately and the latest Wrecking Ball update, which was promised a while back, is still getting finished. Hopefully this update can be released before the end of November. For those who are curious, the new worksite location will be the Lunar Surface! Things take a dramatic and possibly difficult turn when your faced with a whole new gravity field to work in. While working on the moon you wont always be alone, occasionally a passing UFO can be utilized to vaporize blocks.

Sometime in December we will be announcing Alternative Visuals' next planned project, so stay tuned for more information.

Wrecking Ball Update

The development of the next upcoming application is in full progress! Below are some of the most recent screenshots displaying some of the progress made so far within the game. The first two screenshots are taken from within the level editor. The level editor available in the final version will the be the same one being used currently to create levels. A full range of features offers you the chance to create, play, and share your own levels. Just like in Cat Trap you can send and receive custom levels from friends via bluetooth.

Some of the features (as of now)...

30 Jobs Too Complete - Play through three locations with 10 jobs needing to be completed for each location.

Level Editor - Use the very same level creation tool the developers did to create, play, and share your own levels.

In-App Purchases - Purchase expansion packs with new jobs, over time new packs will be created.

OpenFeint Enabled - Earn achievements and make it onto the leader board while you progress through the game.

Cat Trap Lite Submitted

Cat Trap Lite has been submitted to the app store and if all goes well it will be available for free on iTunes this week! The Lite version allows you to try before you buy, giving you a chance to see if you will like the game enough to purchase. The Lite version allows you to play though 8 levels and design/play custom levels. There is limitations in the level editor and you cannot send or receive custom levels via Bluetooth like in the full version. Also there is no Survival Mode and the app contains advertisements, though they are not to intrusive or bothersome.
Work is continuing with Wrecking Ball and I hope to release more information and screenshots very soon.

Cat Trap v1.1.1 Out, and v1.1.2 Coming.

Cat Trap v1.1.1 was approved and is available to download on iTunes, offering enhanced performance and a few glitches being fixed. Although just a little after v1.1.1 was approved I discovered a problem with the version, it put the intro windows for Survival Mode and Classic Mode behind the blocks. v1.1.2 has been submitted to Apple and hopefully it is approved quickly, the problem will only affect those who reinstall the application and those playing Survival Mode or Classic Mode for the first time.

Cat Trap Lite is also in development, this free demo gives a customer the chance to try the game before the commit to buying it. Cat Trap Lite should be available in a week or so.

Alternative Visual's Update

We have been working on a few things of late, which includes a Cat Trap update and two new games. First off is the Cat Trap v1.1.1 update, this update is not a very big one and should be submitted within the week.

Updates:
~Fixed a glitch that would sometimes prevent a cat from turning to cheese in bottom left corner.
~Fixed a few grammatical errors throughout the game.
~Upgraded the game engine to cocos2d v0.99.0.

As of now we are working on two new game concepts. The concept that is furthest into development is a physics based puzzle game. This game has been confirmed and is currently being developed. Sometime this week more information including a name and concept screen shots will be posted on the blog and website. Though it is a bit early, I would expect a late Spring or early Summer release for this game.

Cat Trap Developer Video 5

Finally got around to making another developer video, since it's been so long since the last one this video is longer then normal.

January 1, 2010

Cat Trap is close to completion!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We are getting very close to wrapping up programing, we are a bit behind schedule but I can almost guarantee a January release. BETA testing will begin very soon as well; all that is left to be done is tweaking the levels, adding audio, and a few final touches.

It's been a while since the last post but we got a whole lot done including finishing up the options menu, designed the 25 levels, graphical work, and more. Below are a few screen shots of our recent work, we hope you enjoy!

The first picture is what the options menu will look like for the most part, including some stat trackers we included to keep track of your total cheese collected, times you died, distance traveled, and games played. The next 4 pictures are some of the 25 different levels in classic mode we included ranging in difficulty from easy to really hard! The last picture shows the level complete screen, you unlock level achievements for three things; beating the level, beating the level in a certain amount of time, and beating the level without losing a life.

I hope to share a video very soon, I know it's been promised but just haven't had time lately. I will also be making a post in the near future looking for BETA testers, anyone is welcomed.
